Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Conciurgent Care's in-home urgent care services.
Botox & Aesthetics
Q:Can Botox be used for medical conditions, not just cosmetic purposes?
Absolutely. Botulinum toxin (Botox®) is FDA-approved for chronic migraines, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), TMJ/jaw tension, cervical dystonia, and overactive bladder, among other conditions. Our APN, Anna Gulinski, is trained in both therapeutic and cosmetic applications. During your in-home visit she assesses your symptoms, explains treatment options, and—if appropriate—administers injections on the spot. Many patients with chronic migraines see a significant reduction in headache days per month after two to three treatment cycles.
Q:What should I expect during an in-home Botox or aesthetics appointment?
Your appointment begins with a face-to-face consultation with Anna Gulinski, APN, in the comfort of your home. She evaluates your goals—whether cosmetic (fine lines, crow's feet, forehead wrinkles) or therapeutic (migraines, TMJ, hyperhidrosis)—and develops a personalized treatment plan. Injections typically take 15–30 minutes with minimal discomfort. There is no downtime; most patients return to normal activities immediately. Results appear within 3–7 days and last 3–4 months. All products are authentic, FDA-approved, and sourced directly from the manufacturer.
Q:How do I know the Botox used is authentic and safe?
ConciWellness sources all botulinum toxin products (Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin®) directly from the manufacturer through authorized medical distributors. Every vial is traceable with lot numbers and expiration dates documented in your chart. Our APN maintains current certification and follows strict FDA handling and storage protocols. We never use gray-market, diluted, or counterfeit products—your safety and results are non-negotiable.
Care Coordination
Q:I already see an endocrinologist. Can ConciWellness coordinate with my existing doctor?
Yes—care coordination is a core principle. If you have an endocrinologist managing diabetes, thyroid, or other hormonal conditions, Dr. Davidson will communicate directly with your specialist (with your consent) to ensure GLP-1 prescriptions, lab targets, and treatment plans are aligned. We send visit summaries and lab results to any physician you designate, so your entire care team stays on the same page. ConciWellness enhances your existing care; it does not replace it.
Membership
Q:What does a ConciWellness membership include?
A ConciWellness membership includes the Conci base membership ($75/month or $750/year) plus the Wellness Add-On ($225/month or $2,500/year). With your membership you receive: priority scheduling with Dr. Joanna Davidson and Anna Gulinski, APN; comprehensive initial wellness assessment in your home; ongoing prescription management and dose titration for GLP-1 or peptide therapy; periodic lab work coordination; aesthetic treatment planning; direct-line access to your care team; and the privacy of all visits occurring in the comfort of your home. Individual treatments (injections, Botox units, labs) are billed per-service at transparent rates discussed during your consultation.
Peptide Therapy
Q:What is peptide therapy, and what conditions can it help with?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that signal specific biological processes. ConciWellness offers physician-supervised peptide protocols targeting recovery, energy, immune support, and body composition. Common peptides include BPC-157 (tissue repair and gut health), CJC-1295/Ipamorelin (growth-hormone release for recovery and lean mass), and Thymosin Alpha-1 (immune modulation). All peptides are sourced from FDA-registered 503B compounding pharmacies and administered or prescribed by our in-home physician after a thorough evaluation.
Privacy & Experience
Q:How does ConciWellness ensure privacy for in-home treatments?
Privacy is foundational to the ConciWellness model. All visits occur in your home—no waiting rooms, no shared spaces, no chance of running into colleagues or neighbors at a clinic. Our providers arrive in unmarked vehicles and carry supplies in discrete medical bags. Your health records are stored in our HIPAA-compliant EHR, and we never share information without your explicit written consent. For sensitive treatments like weight-loss medication or aesthetics, this level of discretion is exactly why our members choose in-home care.
Weight Loss & GLP-1
Q:What are GLP-1 medications, and how do they work for weight loss?
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor agonists—including semaglutide (Ozempic®/Wegovy®) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro®/Zepbound®)—mimic a natural gut hormone that regulates appetite and blood sugar. They slow gastric emptying so you feel full longer, reduce cravings, and help the body use insulin more efficiently. Clinical trials show average weight loss of 15–20 % of body weight over 12–18 months when combined with lifestyle changes. Our ConciWellness physicians prescribe, titrate, and monitor your therapy entirely in-home, with regular lab work and body-composition tracking.
Q:Are GLP-1 medications safe? What side effects should I expect?
GLP-1 receptor agonists have been FDA-approved for over a decade and carry a strong safety profile when prescribed and monitored by a physician. The most common side effects are mild nausea, constipation, or diarrhea—especially during dose titration. These typically resolve within the first few weeks. Serious but rare risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder issues; our physicians screen for contraindications before prescribing and schedule regular follow-up visits (in your home) to adjust dosing and monitor labs.
Q:Am I a candidate for GLP-1 therapy?
You may be a candidate if your BMI is 30 or above (or 27+ with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or sleep apnea). During your initial ConciWellness consultation—conducted privately in your home—our physician reviews your medical history, current medications, and lab results to determine the safest, most effective plan for you. We do not prescribe GLP-1s for cosmetic weight loss alone; clinical criteria must be met.
Q:What is the difference between GLP-1 and GLP-2, and why does ConciWellness only offer GLP-1?
GLP-1 and GLP-2 are both incretin hormones but serve very different purposes. GLP-1 receptor agonists regulate appetite, blood sugar, and metabolism—making them effective for weight management and type 2 diabetes. GLP-2 receptor agonists (e.g., teduglutide/Gattex®) stimulate intestinal growth and are used exclusively for short bowel syndrome, a rare GI condition. Because GLP-2 has no role in weight loss or the wellness services ConciWellness provides, we focus solely on GLP-1 therapies where the evidence for metabolic health is strongest.
Q:What weight-loss options does ConciWellness offer beyond GLP-1 medications?
While GLP-1 receptor agonists are our most popular weight-management tool, ConciWellness takes a comprehensive approach. Depending on your evaluation, Dr. Davidson may recommend: peptide therapy (e.g., CJC-1295/Ipamorelin) to support lean body composition; nutritional counseling referrals; B12 and lipotropic injections for energy and metabolism support; body-composition monitoring with periodic DEXA or bioimpedance scans; and coordination with personal trainers or dietitians you already work with. Every plan is individualized—there is no one-size-fits-all protocol.
