When Your Student Gets Sick

They’re 300 Miles Away. We’re Right Here.

It’s 11 PM and your daughter calls — sore throat, fever, can’t swallow. She doesn’t know where to go. The campus health center closed at 4. The nearest ER is a $1,200 copay and a 3-hour wait. This is exactly why ConciCollege exists. We’re the call she makes instead — and we answer.

A Message for Parents

We know this feeling. Your child is sick, and you can’t be there to put your hand on their forehead. You’re Googling symptoms at midnight, texting them "go to urgent care," and worrying they won’t go. With ConciCollege, they don’t have to figure it out alone. They text or call us — day or night — and we take it from there. We’re the experienced, caring clinician you’d want in the room if you could be there yourself.

Common Conditions We Handle

Cold, Flu & COVID

Rapid testing, symptom management, and antiviral prescriptions when appropriate. We help your student feel better faster.

Strep Throat & Sore Throat

Quick assessment, rapid strep testing coordination, and antibiotic prescriptions when needed — often within hours, not days.

UTIs & Bladder Infections

Common, uncomfortable, and often embarrassing for students to handle alone. We make it easy and private — diagnosis and treatment, often via telehealth.

Stomach Bugs & Food Poisoning

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea — miserable in a dorm. We provide hydration guidance, anti-nausea treatment, and in-person IV fluids if needed.

Ear & Sinus Infections

Painful pressure, headaches, and congestion. We evaluate and treat so your student can get back to class.

Minor Skin Infections & Rashes

Impetigo, cellulitis, contact dermatitis, and mystery rashes. We evaluate, treat, and refer to dermatology if needed.

How It Works When They Get Sick

1

They Reach Out

Your student texts, calls, or messages us — 24/7, any day of the year.

2

Expert Evaluation

Our clinician assesses symptoms via telehealth. If in-person care is needed, we coordinate same-day or next-day visits in Chicago.

3

Treatment & Prescriptions

Prescriptions sent to their local pharmacy, treatment plans explained clearly, and follow-up scheduled if needed.

4

Parent in the Loop

With your student’s permission, we keep you informed. You’ll know what’s happening, what was prescribed, and when to expect improvement.

Telehealth vs. In-Person — We Help Them Decide

Telehealth (Included)

  • Sore throat, cold, flu symptoms
  • UTI symptoms
  • Mild rashes or skin concerns
  • Medication questions
  • Mental health check-ins
  • “Is this normal?” questions

In-Person Add-On (Chicago Area)

  • IV hydration for dehydration
  • Strep/flu/COVID rapid testing
  • Laceration repair (stitches)
  • Severe nausea treatment
  • Wound evaluation
  • Physical exams when needed

When to Go to the ER

We will always be honest when your student needs emergency care. Call 911 or go to the ER for:

  • Difficulty breathing or chest pain
  • High fever with confusion or stiff neck
  • Severe abdominal pain
  • Signs of allergic reaction (swelling, hives, throat tightening)
  • Loss of consciousness or seizure

Don’t Let Them Navigate Sick Days Alone

24/7 access to experienced clinicians who care. Because being far from home is hard enough.
